Either we were apart too long or we were keeping things inside for a while,

it felt like every one of us were going through a pretty bittersweet period, around the same time, just in different ways.

We’re all doing good though! Updated one another on our lives and going crazy in the restaurant. It was kind of embarrassing as 20-year-olds but it’s this kind of gathering that brings us back to our old, fun selves again.

Youtube, newspapers, social network… You’ve seen them all.

Today was simply a sweet day. Sharon put up a petition on FB that if the valentine photo gets a 100 likes, Peng will confess to Puay Joo during our cruise lecture in the afternoon.

OF COURSE, almost everyone liked the photo (EVEN LECTURERS PLEASE), and everyone came for lecture just to see it happen!

Miss Chern initially refused but through my coursemates’ egging and Mr Lee’s ‘What are you waiting for!!’ Peng went to the front.

He prepared a speech but he said he talked to PJ who asked him to speak freely, and he did. He said his feelings grew since year 1 and he wants to protect and love her.

Then he started choking up and crying! Omg I wanted to cry there and then! A lot of LRM girls were also moved so hard.

I’m so proud of Peng! He was really very brave. Of all the fairytales and dumb YT videos, to be able to see a heartfelt confession with your own eyes, with the people we love (i.e. LRMians) who are there with heartfelt support, it’s not difficult to be touched.

Seems that PJ was moved to tears too. Oh gosh it makes my heart clench just replaying the whole thing in my head! What a way to end our last lecture of the year! Simple and sweet.

Beautiful week.

Happy 21st birthday to lovely Jasmine on 5th Feb.

Happy 20th to Val on the 6th. Girl, it’s a sign that it’s time to grow up proper.

Arrived at school early and saw Edeline, Junheng and Jasmine. Ede saw me but when I raised my hand to wave she looked away. Felt kinda crushed! But pretended it was nothing and went to playfully swat her arm and said ‘hey, can’t recognise me is it?’ Then I saw a slice of Sugarloaf cake and a box of madeleines but nothing dawned on me yet. Then I was about to walk away when Jasmine pulled me back, refusing to let me go.

Turned out they planned a last minute gift for me! Was texting CL, saying I was early. Apparently they started to panick cos the lighter was with her, so I had to blow out an imaginary flame. They did not expect me to walk their direction too so they were not ready and felt veryyy anticlimatic.

But thank God for friends like them :) It’s the thought that counts, really. I don’t need a lavish party with a full cake, balloons and people screaming birthday wishes to me. Just a little surprise (or rather, anti-surprise) is enough to show that you care.

After class, went to tcc to celebrate with the family. Being a tcc member cardholder has not brought any benefits to me till February, when they sent a voucher for 50% off total bill the first visit, and 30% the second! WHO WOULD PASS IT UP??

Ate up to $140 that evening but we only paid $70. Where got such deal one!

Still went to Swensen’s though we were really full cos it’s a family tradition - taking advantage of Firehouse Happy Birthday hoho.

Ice cream is my happy food so I did not mind a single bit.

Loved every minute spent with my friends and family.

Thursday

Today! Finally over with our last project submission as well as last presentation for the semester. By golly, the exams are coming soon.

Presentation ended early so I almost ran to Sugarloaf for a good ole meal with Regina and CL.

Beef Quesadillas, Paris Brest, Hot Latte, and a box of madeleines (again!) to-go. Yummers.

Saturday

Gonna go have a long singing session with the peeps at Downtown East! Have never gone to that karaoke place before so hopefully is good.

Sunday

Meeting Ah Aw (hopefully!) for dinner. Perhaps the other girls will be there too?
